You must specify BLACK on the order form, if you want a black triple clamps. The SUB mount allows more room for other equipment such as a Global Positioning Systems or computer equipment and still retain the quick access to adjust the stabilizer. This is also good for the taller rider who wants his bars a little higher. Because this raises the bars about 25mm, you might consider a lower bend bar at the same time, unless you are trying to achieve a higher bar height along with your stabilizer.
